What is "cerebrospinal fluid"?
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is a clear, colorless fluid that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord. It acts as a cushion, providing mechanical support to the delicate neural tissues and helping to maintain a stable environment for the central nervous system. CSF also serves as a medium for the exchange of nutrients and waste products between the blood vessels and the brain.
